Just getting home from our trip, it seems like all of life is in an uproar. Saturday morning, I took a look around my kitchen and saw this:
I decided it was time to declare a State of Residential Emergency. Time to get organized- NOW!
I had the supplies to make the Noodlehead Mail Organizer for some time....just a matter of getting to it. Now was the time! So I dug into my fabric stash, pulled out some more of my Amy Butler Lotus (paired with some stripes from Barbara Jone's Quiltsoup), and got busy. Without further ado, the finished product:
Well, still planning to put a wall vinyl or something above the cork/magnetic board, but mostly finished...you get the idea. I also added the black box on the side, which contains hanging files, for the million school notices, permission slips, take out menus, etc that end up on my counter. Now, every kid has a file, and everything has a place. There is hope for me after all!!
Any wagers as for how long this level of cleanliness is going to last??
I am sharing my new-found organization over at Quilt Story and A Crafty Soiree...go check out the other inspiration!
ooo it looks great! I need one of those mail organizers as well...that may have to be my project this week. I have a dryer top in my kitchen that looks much like your counters did...
ReplyDeleteI hope it works for you! No solution seems to help the clutter here! LOL. At least it looks great at the moment :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I've been tempted by that tute, and now I'm even more tempted! My counters and desk look an awful lot like yours at the moment. :)
ReplyDeletethis organizer looks so great. i am with you on the counter clutter....i think it has a mind and life of its own and grows when i am not looking.
ReplyDeleteI love it! I think I am inspired to clean out my drawers ... as soon as I make an adorable organizer that is. : )
ReplyDeleteso so coool! I love those colors together, and it looks so pretty. Great job and your blog is super cute, too. :)

ReplyDeleteJennifer :)
Nope - by the end of the week you'll be back to where it was and then some.
ReplyDeleteI like your sense of optimism though.
Man, I need one of those BAD. My counter is always in a state of residential emergency and I can't stand it. What is it about the kitchen counter being a paper throw-up magnet? Great work on the organizer. I love the fabric combo!
ReplyDeleteLooks great!Love the stripes you used in your organizer. Hope it lasts ;)
ReplyDeleteIt looks great! Want to come do my office now? :) I like to blame the mess on the two year old. I really shouldn't do that. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for keeping it real! We always have clutter here, I'm just too embarrassed to photograph mine :-) I love, love, love your version of the mail organizer. So fabulous!
ReplyDeleteYou guys crack me up. Thanks for making me feel like I am not the only slob on the block!
ReplyDeleteI'm like Mary, no photos here! Some days, I have to make sure the background is passable before I post any photos at all!
ReplyDeleteI love your organiser! Super cute. I love the idea about the black box with the files! I have one in my cupboard for all the paperwork that needs keeping but an "inbetween" one for all the stuff waiting to be paid and sorted is genius girl!
Oh I love this. I think I need one of these!
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun project! Love the fabrics you chose!
ReplyDeleteStopping by from Fabric Tuesday!
I have been wanting to do that one too...but I'm not so sure it will solve my clutter problems...wonder if i could make one big enough for toys too! Well, at least it is beautiful, right!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the fabrics you chose for the mail organizer. They complement each other really well. And those labels are awesome!
