Our winter getaway destination this year was the exotic metropolis of Grand Forks, North Dakota. What a follow up to Italy, eh?
We hopped in the minivan and made a run for the border for a few days over spring break. Just needed a change of pace, and some family time. We stayed at the Canad Inns which sports a big, loud water park- Heaven on Earth for kids who have not seen a bathing suit for 6 months (except when they "swim" in our tub). Add to that a hotel room with bunk beds and a Playstation, and an in-hotel arcade, and matching rainbow bathing suits for the girls from Target and as far as they are concerned, GF is da bomb! Not without its hiccups. Or throw-ups, I should say. Three of 'em. One in the pool (which was then shut down for cleaning), one near the hot tub (caught it. in my hands. it's all good.) and one in the middle of the night on the carpet. You may wanna avoid room 209. Just saying. But overall...good times :-) And here is a picture of what the kids have been up to at home...our poor dog!!
So cute...and looks like a good time all around! Who needs Italy?
ReplyDeleteHaha. What is it with kids on a fun trip? They get so excited that it's all about the throw up. Lane did the same thing after West Edmonton Mall. And yes, we did catch the barf in our hands to spare the hotel. Parents are so silly sometimes :P
ReplyDeleteLooks like it was a terrific time though! :D
Looks like fun! My winter getaway was to Seattle, where it rained pretty much the entire time. I was so happy because it wasn't SNOW! Still lots of the white stuff waiting for us here, though.
ReplyDeleteGrand Forks, North Dakota it is then!
ReplyDeleteHa! Grand Forks, ND "exotic." Oh, that'll have me laughing all day. Does look like a fun time though ... next time we feel like making a run west for the border, we'll have to check it out.
ReplyDeleteSorry about all the throwing up. :-/
That sounds like fun mate!
ReplyDeleteSpewin about the spewin but!
You kiddos are so super cute!!!
Other people's barf stories are always funny.
ReplyDeleteGrand Forks sounds much more exciting now then it was back in the early 80's. My grandparents lived there and we would pack up the station wagon and drive all 6 of us from Houston, Texas to visit each summer. Back then the Holiday Inn with the Holidome was about as good as it got...nice to see that there is much more fun now! Lisa in Texas
