Kids, left to their own devices...

You know when you are absorbed in your "10 minutes" of blogging...then glance at the clock and an hour has passed and it is waaaaaaay too quiet in your house? That sinking feeling of doom as you tip-toe towards the children, wondering what trouble they have found?

Well, I had such an experience recently. I expected the worst. I never would have guessed what they had done!

Love notes. They were writing each other love notes.

Each child made a series of notes for the other, in their adorable preschool spelling, and taped them up on each others' doors. " I love you" and "hi cool prsin" and pictures of hearts and their favorite teddies.

I guess there is hope for them after all! My heart grew 3 sizes that day :) Lucky, lucky me. xoxo

  5. Awww. I am continually amazed at how much love and affection children can show toward one another without any parental help. I love this.

  6. That is so adorable! I wish my kids would do that while I blog! Usually when it's really quiet I go in the kitchen and find them eating sprinkles.

  10. Ooo, that's gorgeous!

A couple of weeks before my FIL died, we visited with DD and Grandson (then aged 14 months). FIL said these words (jokingly): "It's too quiet. Find out what the kids are doing and tell them to stop it!" (He was the father of six). Whenever GS gets too quiet, we quote that line and chuckle! It's a sweet memory of a dearly loved man.
