merry and bright

We got our tree this weekend!  We went to the usual tree farm and took in all the annual traditions.  The sleigh ride:

Hot chocolate and hot dogs and snuggling by the fire:

And scoring a tree, of course :)

We finished decorating it Monday night.  The Hubs and I laughed about how, for so many years, we had clumps of ornaments, 10 or so per branch, all along the bottom and a naked tree top.  Now, it is all about the ladder for the kids.  They want to go up HIGH.  They even started scaling the walls to deck the halls :)

Crazy kids! And of course there was some rocking out to Harry Connick Jr. Christmas tunes (in pajamas apparently 3 sizes too small)....

....and other horsing around, too.

But the final result was, once again, the best tree ever :)

Thanks for sharing your family with us. Our tree is still packed away. Gotta get the gifts out to the mail first.

I wanna come have Christmas in the snow with you and your crazy kids! (who would LOVE Steiger by the way... because he'd crack up at everything they did... he makes a great audience) :)

It looks fabulous and you all obviously had a great time in getting it ready.

We have a real tree too, but with temperatures in the mid-nineties, we tend to buy it as late as possible - Christmas Eve if we can! This year we are hosting WM's family get-together on 16th, so he will get a tree on 15th. My family won't be here till 29th - I hope it survives that long!

Beautiful kids and beautiful tree. I love a real tree, but we only have straggly pines here in Australia in summer. I see you have a layer of snow already. Where abouts in Canada do you live. My younger brother lived in Banff for 6 months in 08-09 and Whistler for 18 months from March 2011 til Sept this year. Now he's 30 and used up his work visa he needs sponsorship to go back!

You tree is wonderful. And so big! That's another difference between your country and ours. Here hardly anyone has a real tree. Plastic all the way baby!

Those small pyjamas - they're midriff pyjamas and they're all the rage in pyjamas land. Im an expert on pyjamas.
