McKinley quilt revisited

One of the first quilts I made was for a sweet little girl named McKinley. I had such fun with it and so many questions about it I ended up making the pattern available- you can see it on my sidebar or click here. Anyways, it is really cool seeing stuff made by your tutorials pop up in the blogosphere (maybe I should make a Flickr group??), and today Kelli tipped me off that Natalia at Piece N Quilt had posted one on her blog yesterday. She did some magical quilting on a quilt made by MaryAnn.... take a look at this!

Nicely done, ladies!

I absolutely love your McKinley quilt and I am going to attempt it as soon as I get all the fabric for it, hopefully sometime this weekend. I am SOOO new to quilting but really want to make this quilt for my girls' rooms. Then I saw this one this morning and it is just gorgeous!! Kudos to the lovely work they did. I did have a question, being a newbie, how in the world did they do the flowers in the middle of those blocks? I am still doing my research/learning on what it really means to quilt a quilt top. I am just in awe of how someone does this on a sewing machine. I thought I could do alot with my machine :). Thanks for sharing all of your work!!

Wow, that quilting work is divine! It's so funny that you posted this, because I used your tutorial for a quilt top I just finished (I sort of combined it with another quilt pattern, so my blocks are a bit different)...I'm starting the quilting after the weekend, so hopefully I'll be able to post completed photos soon! The tutorial was really really helpful!

Hi Kristie,
I'm Mary Ann and I'm the one who used your pattern to make this darling little quilt. I fell in love with your McKinley quilt and wanted an easy quilt to make for a new granddaughter. Thanks for sharing your pattern.
